Since starting my blog it’s allowed me to see what I have painted each year, and it’s become a little tradition of mine to get them all out and pop them on a table and take a pic of them at the end of the year. So let’s have a look at how 2022 went painting wise!

It was a fair old hoard this year, and I was vert pleased with the share volume of models. Last year in my round up post I said I’d try to paint more GodTear and indeed I did 3 warbands in total with a nice mix of paint schemes as well.

I also finished the biggest model I’ve ever done a full blown Knight for Warhamer 40K, which was a very challenging model to do but still something I’m very pleased with.

I also actually finished a force this year, my Eldar (space Elves) Fleet for Battle Fleet gothic, even including some tiny little attack craft and torpedoes with carry case!

But really all of that is blown away with the new army I started for A Song of Ice and Fire the Nights Watch. Pervious to this year I would say I am no longer an army painter, it had seemed a long time since I painted anything other than a skirmish force, but then this year saw me start this new force and really get my teeth stuck into it!

And finally I made a bit of scratch built terrain that turned out more or less how I imagined!

So overall happy with painting in 2022, a lot of different models painted, different colour schemes and all of them turning out OK to my eye. What 2023 will bring I’m not sure, I currently fancy doing some more terrain, and I still got some GodTear and Nights Watch minis to paint, I might also paint some random models that I have rather than focus around forces I have, but I’m very much of the mind set let’s see where it takes me rather than give myself tasks.
I hope everyone has a jolly good New Year, and all the best for 2023 all!
A very nice round up and some impressive models! 🙂 You’ve got to do scenery in 2023 and make sure that nice new hot glue gun gets its fair share of the action! Hope you have a great New Year!

I think you did an excellent job painting this year and I like the variety in what you painted. There was a great mix of large and small projects as well. I’m looking forward to seeing what you get up to in 2023! 🙂

“Err… Mance? I reckon we should call off the attack on the wall. The Night’s Watch appear to have a knight backing them up… And not the kind that rides about on a horse either…”.
Cracking work all round, looking forward to seeing what you do in 2023!

Some models do look slightly odd together don’t they!
Thanks for the kind words, hopefully 2023 will be just as filled with models.

I’ve done it 3 years now and each year I’ve found it really interesting, it’s surprising what I had forgotten I had done.
